Terminal Emulations

MacToPic Plus is a terminal emulation and data transfer program allowing a Macintosh to be used as a terminal (connected to a host computer directly, by modem, or over the Internet.) emulating Wyse 50, Wyse 60, Wyse 370, ADDS Viewpoint, Televideo 925, DEC VT101 and Prism with programmable function keys and automatic 132 column mode switching. Esprit III color is also supported in Wyse 370 mode.

The emulators support video attributes such as dim, reverse, underline, 132-column codes, and graphic characters sent from the host computer, as well as enhanced Viewpoint mode.

Data transferred from the host computer can be used in Mac spreadsheets, databases, word processors, page layout, Internet Browsers and other programs. Other features include phone list and dialer for Hayes-compatible modems, Mac-to-Host as well as Host-to-Mac data transfer capability, 32-bit clean, AppleScript support, and more.

The data transfer capabilities are designed to work with relational databases on hosts running PICK, UNIX, Linux, Prime, Ultimate, uniVerse, Unidata, Windows NT, etc. MacToPic has been extensively tested with many host computers.

$195.00   Site Licenses are available.

Scroll Back

MacToPic +™ version 9 can scroll back to the past 20 pages of data. It remembers the last 20 pages that appear on your screen, regardless of whether the data has scrolled across the screen or the screen has cleared. Video attributes such as inverse and underline are also saved including colors.

This means that you can use the scroll bar to scroll back to previous screens to look at the data or print a scrolled back page or copy a selection into the clipboard.

AppleScript Support

MacToPic Plus version 8 supports AppleScript commands. Many functions of MacToPic Plus can be controlled by a script (such as transferring data to and from the host, sending commands to the host and messages to the MacToPic Plus user.) Scripts compiled as applications can be run from "Run AppleScript" under the Special Menu. For instance, you can write a script to transfer data from the host to a file on your Macintosh and then tell another application to open that file.

CommToolBox support

Connection and file transfer tools can be used with MacToPic Plus to connect into a wide variety of networks with numerous file transfer protocols. Systems using Ethernet, AppleTalk, TCP/IP and others -- as well as file transfer tools, such as Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem, Kermit and FTP -- are all supported. The user simply selects from a scrolling list of network or file transfer tools, several of which are provided with the program (many others are available from a multitude of sources).

See TCP/IP - Telnet page for more information about TCP/IP and telnet tools.

Connectivity

1. Built in Modem supported if not running under OS X. (Use MacWise version 10 for OS X)
2. Telnet / TCP/IP using a telnet tool
3. Serial ports via USB to Serial adaptor.

Data transfers can be remotely controlled from host BASIC or AppleScript. Client Server commands are supported to allow host programming that lets a user simply select from a host menu item to start a data transfer.

Host menu items can be selected with a simple click of the mouse on screen (no special host programming required). MacToPic Plus has page forward/back capability, as well as the ability to display 24-bit color pictures and QuickTime movies under host control. Pictures and movies can be stored on a File server. (Pictures must be in Macintosh PICT format and movies must be Macintosh QuickTime format).

MacToPic Plus also supports user selectable color screens. Users can select the background and text colors. ANSI color and Wyse 370 color is supported.

MacToPic Plus retails for $195. Site Licenses are available.
